If you’ve been injured in an auto accident, whiplash, also called neck sprain or strain, may show symptoms of pain and discomfort or it may happen with no symptoms at all. It’s important to receive a proper diagnosis from Dr. Nathan Grinder D.C. or Dr. Clay Warren D.C. at Cornerstone Wellness Center for whiplash, so that the intervertebral joints, discs, ligaments, and cervical muscles aren’t damaged.

Whiplash is caused by an abrupt jerking motion of the head and neck. It’s often the result of a car accident but can occur in sports, or even from riding a rollercoaster. Symptoms of whiplash may be delayed for 24 hours, which is why it’s important to pay attention if you feel neck pain, headaches, low back pain, and/or pain in the shoulder between the shoulder blades. If you’ve been diagnosed with whiplash, treatment will depend on the severity of the condition.
